Martin Luther King, Jr. Service of Hope

This special service was dedicated to the memory of the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. Excerpts from MLK’s writings and sermons were integrated throughout the service. There was a blend of Civil Rights anthems and new songs focused on justice, mercy and compassion. Guest preacher, Rev. Conway Boyce, of Brooklyn Covenant Ministries, preached out of Nehemiah 2. His sermon title was: Let Us Rise Up and Rebuild! The offering received was given in entirety to Break the Chains, a ministry dedicated to stopping human trafficking around the world. The evening service closed with a lighting of the peace candle, and singing in rousing chorus, This Little Light of Mine.
