In the spring of 1996, a conversation between Barbara Bayliss (then office manager of Redeemer), and Carol Vermillion sparked the idea of a Redeemer ladies lunch meeting. We did set an age limit of 50+, however guests were/are always welcome, no matter what the age! We've named ourselves The Heart-to-Heart Group. There are a couple of reasons for this desire 1) some of us were experiencing an 'empty nest syndrome' and 2) while we had known each other for many years we believed it would be a way to know each other on a deeper personal level outside of church attendance and activities. There were no rules, no agenda - just to communicate and deepen friendships. And that it did!!! However some of the Redeemer ladies were still in the working labor force and expressed an interest in our get-togethers. Since they were unable to attend the luncheons, we extended our meetings by adding dinner time dining to enable working ladies to attend.

This 'group' has now been meeting for 18+ years! We have shared many, many precious moments. We have grieved together, laughed together, and encouraged one another in so many ways. While some of the original attendees have relocated — both home and church — they are ALWAYS advised of the upcoming dates and places for the next month dining pleasures.

Heart-to-Heart meets for lunch on the first Wednesday of the month at 1:00pm, and for dinner the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 5:30pm. For updated times and locations, please check the church calendar, or contact Carol Vermillion (email, 301-262-4904) or the Church Office.
